At just 10 year old, Simon was forced to quit school and support his ailing mother. His mother died when Simon was 11 and his aunt became his legal guardian. Simon was unable to continue school and had to work as a shepherd earning only 50 cent per day. A well wisher took pity on Simon and brought him to Christ our Refuge Children’s Home. At CORCH, he was able to catch up to school and have a steady place to live. New Horizon Ministry was created to help cater to the basic needs of street children living in Lusaka, Zambia. There are an estimated total of 30,000 children living on the streets of Lusaka. New Horizon Ministry has been able to provide resources to over 500 children by providing residential facilities, counseling, food, and educational provisions.
