A Season of Blessings for Orphan and Vulnerable Children
12/22/2009 Dearest Friends:The Holiday Season is a time of expectation and anticipation. We expect the experience of spending time with family and loved ones, and anticipate reminders of what this season means to so many. At Save Africa’s Children, we are filled with the expectation and anticipation of reaching 1 million children by the end of 2012.
This new goal to reach 1 million children derives from a foundation laid by supporters like you. Through more than 420 partners engaged in education, healthcare, counseling, feeding, and other programs designed to provide care and protection for orphan and vulnerable children. You have already helped us reach 250,000 children in 23 African nations. Therefore, we know this goal is in sight.
Consider a few things you have helped us accomplish during the last months of this year…
• Clean drinking water sources were developed impacting 300 children
• 2,200 children received help with school fees and educational opportunities
• Grants to develop agriculture and nutrition program to help feed 650 children
• Investments in micro-enterprises to provide continuous care and support for 500 children
• 300 children received home-based care and counseling
This Holiday season, we are supporting the Save Africa’s Children Medical Clinic in Kenya, and making preparations for a medical camp along the Kenya-Tanzania border. This medical camp will bring much needed health screening, medicines and supplies to the Masai people that populate the area. Even now, we are shipping a container to Kenya filled with medical supplies, clothing, shoes, backpacks and other items for distribution to our grantee partners in East Africa.
Your support makes this possible. Join us in our goal to reach 1 million children over the next three years. It is estimated that 20 million children will be orphaned by that time. If we can reach one million…we can reach two million, if two million…then four million, and so on. Together we can bring hope and restoration to children that long to experience the expectation and anticipation of blessings in their lives. You can be that blessing.
Your gift of $25 or more will put on us on track to reach our goal. For your gift of $25 or more, you will also receive a 2010 Save Africa’s Children Calendar to adorn your home and/or office, or to present as a gift. The calendar features photographs by renowned photo-journalist Valerie Goodloe. Click here to give.
May this Holiday season bring you joy and peace,
